it's significant because she's full-figured. The way that things are advertised is changing to reflect what advertisers and marketers believe about what readers will respond to. It used to be that you could hardly find clip art or photos like that where the subject was full-figured or imperfect, or ethnic, for that matter...the world is changing.

I see more and more of this in advertisement too. Maybe that is why I am desensitized to it.
